Has anyone tried to column of values approach where subjectIdentifier or subjectLocator is a set of values?

A poster at TMRA 2010 presented a Topic Maps engine which uses HBase, see http://www.topicmapslab.de/publications/scaling_biomedical_topic_maps_to_billions_of_associations

Did the poster presentation address their treatment of sets of subjectIdentifier or subjectLocator values? I looked at the summary but it is hard to tell from it exactly what is being done.
Extremely interesting but hard to form an opinion without more detail.

I have no idea, but I agree that the link does not provide details, just “We did it … somehow” 😉

Yes, well, I am going to write to ask for more details. Suspect it would be of general interest to the community. Will ask them to post something in a public location.
